  • Extrastaff was founded in 2003, with the plan to be the UK’s number one supplier of temporary workers to the driving and industrial sectors. Our forward-thinking approach has triggered a massive investment in IT development, whilst keeping our high-quality ethic at the heart of the business. We supply both local and national businesses from our growing network of High Street branches and onsite locations.

    As specialists in the blue-collar sector our innovative approach to recruitment combines that large branch network with EFOS, our own ground breaking IT platform, making our clients and workers lives simpler.

    Our aim has been to create a nationally recognised, high-quality, high street brand in blue collar recruitment. When we started, no such brand existed Many national recruiter dealt with a mix of industrial and secretarial work whilst the logistics and industrial specialists were only local agencies.

    Now operating from over 60 locations (both High Street branches and on clients’ own premises), we have won multiple awards, and maintain one of the lowest internal staff turnover figures in the industry.

  • 2003

    Extrastaff established

    Formed and established in St Albans in 2003 with 2 branches and HQ, our branch network grew within our first year to four branches.

  • 2005

    5th Branch

    In 2005 we opened our 5th high-street branch in Enfield

  • 2009

    Extrastaff had opened another 4 branches in Dartford, Northampton, Watford and Harlow

  • 2010

    We opened branches in Maidstone, Basildon and Uxbridge

  • 2014

    We began the development of our own IT platform.

  • 2015

    New Head Office

    We bought and refitted our new Head Office building (with training centre) in Porters Wood St Albans and opened our first on-site office with a fulltime team at a client’s premises in West London

  • 2017

    Over the next two years we opened three more branches in Crawley, Stansted Airport and Peterborough, making 16 in total

  • 2018

    West Midlands

    We changed developers and committed £1m to our internal IT platform and T & A systems. We opened our first branch in the West Midlands at Coventry. Sales for 2018 were almost £40m

  • 2020

    Onsite Divisions and further growth

    With massive investment in our IT continuing, which enabled online registration and compliance, turnover hit £60m. We opened our Warrington office, and grew our onsite locations across the UK
