HGV Class 1 Drivers

Role: HGV Class 1 Drivers

Location: Tilbury Docks, Essex

Hours: 5am – 3pm or 3pm – 1am

Pay: £20.00 per hour

Extrastaff have a fantastic opportunity for a number of HGV Class 1 Drivers working out of the Tilbury port (RM18), to work for one of our nationally known clients on a container contract looking to start immediately. Monday to Friday ongoing work with the potential of overtime on a weekend.

This is a great opportunity for any HGV Class 1 Drivers looking for a stable and consistent role in the container industry within a well-established transport company.

• 10 hours minimum guaranteed paid per day

Duties of a the HGV Class 1 Drivers:

• Movement of containers to and from ports to ports whilst complying with road transport legislation.
• HGV Class 1 Drivers must ensure to do daily vehicle checks to make sure your vehicle is roadworthy and safe to use at all times
• Inform the shunt operators of any problems in good time manner
• Ensure all paperwork is correct and physically checked against your container and seal number.

Requirements of a HGV Class 1 Drivers:

• Holder of a current and valid HGV Class 1 driving licence
• Holder of full CPC Qualification
• Previous experience within the container sector would be advantageous
• Good working knowledge of docks including: London Gateway, and Felixstowe and all active dock cards for these would be needed.
